29th April 11 - Sharp Edge to Blencathra

A drive up into the north lakes - forecast was to be windy, and dry - a walk to Scales Tarn at the bottom of Sharp Edge, then onwards up to Sharp Edge - hmmm, see why its called Sharp Edge from up there, and it started to rain, just as we had to climb the last parts and yes i do mean Climb! Then the windy started to blow a gale as we walked to the top of Blencathra - great view and well worth the climb.
the first view of Sharp Edge

A waterfall - a pleasant break on the way up!

Scales Tarn from Sharp Edge - its a long way down!

Looking backwards along Sharp Edge - Eastwards - you can see the Storm approaching fast! and yes thats a long way down on either side of this - we had just climbed, clunged to this

From the top of Blencathra looking over the A66 - Thirlmere valley is under the bright clouds

Many thanks to Dave for the company on this walk.
