26th June - Rivington

This estate was built around 1900 by Lord Leverhume - not been up here for far too long - anyway, this is from the ravine.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

21st June - Longest Day of the Year

Yes, hte longest day of the year and what did I manage to take a photo in Black and White - the reason being, it was overcast, grey skies and howling a gale!
Taken in Black and White - it shows the sun lighting up the far hills

18th June - Wycollar

This is my first outing to Wycollar since I started my Blog - It's a quiet place, follow the stream from the old manor house and there are a few waterfalls to take photos off. Regular follows will know that if am taking water and waterfalls, then my feet are generally in the water as I take the photo.
This first waterfall, is 2m below the walkway - again, as at Roddlesworth - but this time it is possible to reach the water level - i've included 2 photos of this waterfall - showing you the first signs of what you finally reach having walked the water - hope you like this.
and then after the short, but slippy walk in and across the water
On the way back I stopped to take this last easy waterfall.
Thanks once again for taking time to view my work.

16th June - Castle Rigg - Keswick

Today saw me calling once again at Castle Rigg to capture the last photo of my four seasons from here. Was a long wait for various people to decide to stop sitting or taking photos within the circle, then had to wait for the sun to come out. My intention now is to create a photo frame with all the four photos on - the first three photos are at the very begining of this blog.

Thanks for looking.

4th June - morning exploring Roddlesworth again

Today was more of a walk and explore, with only a few chances to take photo's. This first picture was taken from a slightly different position to show the little footbridge over the stream feeding the reservoir.
Taken at the bottom of the dam - the flow is only due to the Water Authority taking water from the reservoir. The moss covered stones in the middle of the water are cut and shaped posts, so I do wonder where they should have been placed?
I have taken this photo before - in the autumn - but stood once more in the river, taking this, waiting for the sun to light the scene, I noticed the reflection in the pool
I found this waterfall in the last blog - and commented I wanted to take it from river level - well I cheated a little - fixing the camera to the tripod at full height, I then turned it upside down, before lowering it carefully to the water - having made sure my feet where safe - this was a 4sec exposure, so balancing over the edge, holding everything still for that long is another issue - hope the result is pleasing to you all.
